TRAVIS HEIGHTS
LOCATION: Austin, TX
SERVICE: Renovation + Furnishings
Once a well-worn rental, this classic Travis Heights bungalow was ready to be restored to its original 1940s charm and character. A thoughtful addition and complete gut renovation transformed the home's modest 1,200-square-foot footprint into a space that feels both expansive and effortlessly connected. By opening the kitchen, raising the ceilings, and introducing new French doors with the character of original architecture, we honored the home's history while creating a more functional layout for modern family life. This home is a true celebration of small-space living—a reflection of the clients' desire to embrace a simpler, more intentional way of life without compromising on beauty or function.
Drawing inspiration from classic English interiors with a transitional sensibility, the home is layered with rich color, timeless patterns, and thoughtfully curated furnishings. Textiles and wallcoverings from Rose Cummings, Pierre Frey, Claremont, Schuyler Samperton, Rose Tarlow, and Antoinette Poisson set the tone, creating a palette that feels both sophisticated and inviting.
A carefully collected mix of antiques and custom-designed pieces gives the home its distinctive character, balancing old and new in a way that feels authentic rather than styled. The result is a warm, cozy home that reflects its owners' personalities and provides a beautiful backdrop as their family continues to grow. This home is a true celebration of small-space living—a reflection of the clients' desire to embrace a cozier, more intentional way of life without compromising on beauty or function.
